Report From Birmingham…
A report from Ricky Gopal in Birmingham….
We have been operating in Birmingham for the past four weeks and have served 1000 meals. We serve at one of the most prestigious Universities in the UK, University of Birmingham. The students are in awe of what food is offered. With a sumptuous feast, great discussions and then some music all on the same day, students have found a new lease of life. Many modern students face financial and mental health struggles, and our service is much appreciated.
It really has been an amazing response from the wider community to support the project. Suresh Patel a restaurant owner in the heart of Birmingham has kindly allowed FFA Birmingham to use their kitchen facilities each week. He had a desire many years ago to start FFA Birmingham and now with his support the project has manifested. Volunteers from the Bhakti Yoga Centre in Birmingham have come forward to cook and serve the meals every Tuesday. It really has been a great team effort and we are positive that even greater heights will be achieved.
